Description

•  
  • -Primary Location will be at our corporate office in Laurel, MS.

Duties

•  
  • -Solicits and prepares bid packages, estimates, performs the analysis of plan designs for major projects including Mississippi DOT   projects.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to participating in billings, change orders, and progress estimates; analyzes pricing and cost information on contracts; participating with scheduling, monitoring progress, and coordinating materials and equipment.

Requirements

•  
  • -5+ years of proven estimating experience in the heavy civil highway construction industry with a focus on structures / bridges.
  • -Proficient in understanding site design and drawings with ability to create additional structural and forming designs.
  • -Completes bid estimates on time with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • -Participates in collaborative review of proposal requirements with management prior to bid submission.
  • -Ensures all bid forms are completed and properly executed.
  • -Assists in the presentation of estimates as required.
  • -Distributes and maintains control of bid documents.
  • -Proficient in tracking and reporting cost to bid.
  • -Proficient in the use of estimating software, grading software, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • -Excellent communication, problem solving, and cost impact analysis skills.
  • -Excellent negotiation and project review skills to create a winning strategy.
  • -Follow-up Site visits and maintaining progress reporting on labor cost and production.
  • -Paving and Grading and Utility experience a plus.
  • -Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
